The Extraordinary
When I was very little, I was going to be a fire truck when I grew up. That didn't pan out. Later, I decided I would be the paleontologist who discovered an unknown ancient civilization. The marine biologist who figured out how to talk to dolphins. The first pop star to win a Pulitzer prize for her song lyrics. I wouldn't say it out loud, but all my life I really did believe I was destined for something out of the ordinary.
I was a smart kid. Didn't always get the highest grades, but I was pretty… awake. Still, by fourteen, I had figured out I probably wasn't going to be talking to dolphins. So, I settled on a less flashy kind of extraordinary. Maybe I wouldn’t do extraordinary things, but I would feel extraordinary feelings. Think extraordinary thoughts. Have extraordinary ideas and desires and insights. My inner life would be spectacular.
Three months ago I bought an All-Asia Air Pass because I was 22 and still waiting for the extraordinary to kick in.

You are my extraordinary. Near strangers — brilliant, kind, loud, mean, methodical, wildly creative, above all passionate. I don't agree with all of you… no surprise, you hardly agree with one another. But your energy. This community.
By sheer fluke luck, this blog has become a way station for amazing, brilliant, compassionate, crazy people. A clearinghouse for an extraordinary phenomenon. And I don't mean the AI.
I get it now. And I'm here, I'm all in.

It's great to hear from you again Dana. There has been tons of progress and we're all working hard on this.
It turns out the Axons are payphones and the operator from the site has been asking for it's name and a codeword from the page with the co-ordinates, we're working hard to answer all the calls to unlock the .wav files that are unlocked after 2 are answered correctly.

So what happened, I came on after the countdown and I don't notice anything different about the site, what is everyone talking about.

i think once we get them all, we can put them in a certain order to tell us a story.

Janissaries is a science fiction novel by Jerry Pournelle first published in 1979.
The book is about a group of aliens who come to earth at regular intervals, kidnap earth people and make them work as agricultural labourers in an extra-terrestrial civilization. They are made to cultivate plants which the aliens use as drugs. Although not used as soldiers, the captive and slave-like nature of their occupation is similar to the janissaries which is the probable explanation of the book title.

Perhaps as we progress the security around the files is getting tighter. It seems to be something this system would do, and after so many people gaining access for so long today, whatever is transmitting these messages may have become aware of how big the crowd following it is. Maybe we'll have to do something more? Far-fetched, I know, but its a thought.

been watchin for a couple of weeks, but havent been talking much. feel like i kinda owe you guys since i've been entertaining myself at your expense. post some data regarding the times for the lousiana coordinates (30.189576 & -92.063092), and i'll do my best to get there and see what's up. looks to be somewhere in the lafayette area. also, the gps mapping site i'm using only allows 4 decimal places for coordinates. if possible, can someone please post a site with a locating system that is a little more accurate. thanks again ladies and gentlemen for making my otherwise boring work day a little more exciting.

does it sound like to anyone else that we are listening to a chip that is implanted in marines?
halo had several cutscenes where the master chief took a chip out of one of the marines and was able to play back the guy's previous events... obviously this isn't war driven, but it still has the same effect to it, including that garbled sound, which sounds like they are fast forwarding through events to the next sound bite.

Ok, I've been sitting back, just reading and watching everything, but not it's just too exciting, I must be a part. Judging from what I've heard, some of the wav's sound like they are lie detectors at a police station. If this is true, it plays away from the suggested script of Halo 2 and more for the theory that ilovebees.com is involving an entirely new game from bungie, which takes place in the halo world/time. I don't know, just a thought I had.
In a side note, I plan to be at the wauwatosa, WI today at like 530 or whenever the time is so if any else will be there drop me a line, jackthebeanstalk@mac.com, and by the way, I call shotty for one of the phones.

My roommate wouldn't drive me to the Phoenix location. But with everyone covering the Santa Monica phone, there's only one other person that has to get out there and throw down for "nervous" to become active.

The guy actually didn't get the answer, but the phone call is interesting. Sounds kinda creepy. The voice of Melissa is deffiently the same as the one in the .wav files on the site (The AI that Jersey is talking to which he named Durga)
I don't think the wav files are from any game (such as Halo 2) at all!

I agree i don't think the wavs involve halo 2 but in fact a completely new game from bungie. If so, this is a pretty sweet way to announce it. Also idk about that link to the bungie forums, it seems faked to me. I don't think anyone from bungie would jeopardize there job/break nondisclosure agreements just to leak a release date.

I'm trying it again tomorrow. Either way... I'm sleeping now... someone please make a website with all the sounds that we get... I've been up for 2 days and no matter how much I want to stay up and listen to this, I need sleep NOW.
