Here's something I learned on my trip to Asia: They don't have fortune cookies in China. That’s an American thing.
Even so, all summer long, I kept wishing for a fortune cookie. I wanted to crack one open and pull out exactly the right cliché, the one small piece of wisdom that would put everything into perspective. I wanted to finish a meal and find the little slip of paper that would tell me, "Everything is going to work out for the best." "You are safe." "You will do the right thing."
Kinda silly to expect so much from a cookie, huh?
Last night, Aunt Margaret took me out to dinner. She wanted to see my trip pictures and hear all my stories. (I don't think she even realizes how much danger she was in these past few weeks, and by the way: she has completely given up on her hotmail account.) We went to Yank Sing so she could eat Dau Miu Gow and Chicken Fun Gwor while looking at photos of me stumbling along the Great Wall. Well, when we finished dinner, I finally got the fortune cookie I'd been wanting for months.

Today we helped Melissa go home again, but I don't think we quite know yet what that means for us. Even though Melissa is gone, I don't seem to have control over Aunt Margaret's site. There's still something living there, and it thinks it's going to broadcast something on Thursday 11/4.
For my part, I'm going to do what I can by helping Melissa execute the training mission she arranged for her crew. I'll be handling all the remaining RSVPs for the events, so if you can make it to Austin, Chicago, New York City, or San Francisco this Thursday evening, be sure you email me with the city and your crew name.

Okay, that was a sweet frickin' ending. Hopefully, Rani's okay. Maybe we'll find out when the flea broadcasts "the truth" for us on thursday. I hope its good. Still don't know what that artifact is at all. Either we'll know thurday, or the next tuesday when Halo2 comes out. Man, in just over a week, instead of operator transmissions on a Tuesday, we get Halo 2, I can't wait.

A fitting end... It began because we watched the Halo 2 trailer over and over, and cought a glimps of some silly website for which we were SUCKED in! Over the past few months we orgonized, mobilized and baptised each other. (they run togehter, don't judge me!!) We made new friends and new allies, the best outcome we could have expected. The story concludes just how it began: Filled with questions ,Drooling over Halo 2, and eating Chinese food.

has anybody read the review of halo 2 in OXM?? in it the only they don't seem to love is the ending, although they never explain why. "It's like eating a 12-hour Tootsie Pop, each layer tastier than the last, the tantalizing center beckoning you to the end. But just as you get to the yummy conclusion...it's not there. I will guarantee that it leaves you wanting more, and that you'll be talking about it for months, if not years to come. For me it was the one letdown- a big disappointment." -OXM
that sucks, but maybe the end leaves it wide open for H3... I think it would be cool if the covie glassed earth. Than MC gets PISSED and takes the fight to the COVIE HOMELAND. although i am not sure it would be a good idea for him to go it alone, so maybe the covies don't glass earth...yet. but we know we can't beat them, just hold them off for a certain amount of time. then we get the idea to send a special ops team to covieland. if we take out the line of command, maybe the covies won't glass earth afterall as there will be nobody giving them orders too, or maybe they come back to their home world to stop us from glassing THEM. that would be cool. i'd just like to go to the covenant home world i think. ONE MORE WEEK...OH MY GOD I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!
so yeah, its been fun, i've been here since just before the aug 24 countdown, and had some outlandish theories about that, and I've enjoyed the ride. I think it will be interesting to see what happens here after Halo 2sday, and just what the flea is going to do... maybe he will tell us he is covenant, who knows???

combat training... y do we need combat training? we are not going to be drafted, but we are using LIVE stuff. the only combat training we need is for HALO 2. my prediction... massive HALO 2 lan party for all who attend.

In the original game... the halo, was a large artifact that was designed as a prison to hold the flood , as well as a weapon to wipe out all life in a raidus...
in the new sound files Herzog says about the atifact found by the apocolypso is tire sized... im guessing like a mini halo... only this wasn't ment to kill life , but to attack electrical life... like an emp... it may also be a signal. im not shure yet...
Now watch the trailer.. the teaser trailer... you hear two voices early on , one talks about war against the humans. and then another is one of the new covinent creatures , talking about the covinant army..
They are definatly diffrent , and you only see the covinent....
Lastly , you see a large machine stomping around , likly on earth, look at its design again... and think about guilty spark...
Remember the guilty spark isnt the on who made halo... hes just an AI construct... he watched over it... so someone built him..... So , what if the little halo wasn't to help bring the covinant to earth (that would just be a side effect) But a signal to the other speciece ..
Which would mean 2 invadeing forces , not one.
oh and the voice at the end of the trail.... is it just me , or does he sound like john hurt. (alien)

One thing about the whole ilb clan thing. Everyone in the world will want to join! i think you have a point. we should definatly have a way to seed out some of the people who want to be in the clan. i guess well have to see who is good enough to be in the clan. or we could have more than one clan.
no offence but we cant have a clan with noobs in it. not trying to be mean. but clan with no wins will have a very low morale. and that might cause fights between the clan members. and no one wants the ilb family to have any tension between them.
so i propose tryouts. mabey the ilb elders will have its advantages. several ilb elders will be on xbox live and we will invite some people in and find out who has skills. but please dont be discouraged to try out if your not confident in your abilities. being good at halo is not all were gonna look for. were also gonna look for people with good leadership qualities. or good tactics(ctf). anyone who is interested in joining one of these clans.

Yeah I think we could have several different clans all related to ilovebees. examples: ilb Durga clan, ilb Melissa clan, ilb Axon clan, ilb Blogger clan, ilb Sleeping Princess clan, ilb Melissa clan, ilb Pious Flea clan, ilb Crew clan, etc etc etc. I guess most of us would fall under the Bloggers clan, but different people could start different clans for each part of ilovebees. Bungie if you read this maybe you could set it up partially. I don't know how, but...
I hope I could be useful; I'm on a wireless connection through a router but we have dsl so unless it was a bad day I shouldn't have any lag, I don't have xbox live yet though so I don't know how that'll work. I do think I would be a good asset as a sniper though; from what I hear about the noobs on xbox live yeah that could be bad. I think qualifying sessions are a good idea, although I don't want to be the one to discover this expert who creams me and decides our clan stinks and doesn't even want to join... Anyway I think we should have some "elders" as has been mentioned. Maybe "prophets" would be a better word lol. Neway we'll have to figure out who will be one, based on how long you've been involved in ilb, how much you know about ilb and Halo, how much you've contributed, how good you are at Halo (of course), etc etc. I think I'll start a blog tomorrow that will involve figuring out the organization of the ilb clan. It's obvious that this Combat-Training Exercise is a XBox Live Enabled demo. It's SQUAD-ORIENTED!, meaning by a squad, a group of players. Also, right in the wording.. it says "LIVEware." Strangely suspicious! The San Francisco address is a payphone AND a previous AXON. This is all leading to it. Everyone attending; crew members, friends, everyone that participated in Melissa's "Game" can go, which means all of you! You just have to send Dana an E-Mail telling her! I would like to go, but thats a 2-hour drive for me! Hope you guys fill me in on it.

Okay, I definately want to be a part of the ILB clan. Here's an idea, kinda stolen from gohon, let's start a list of gamertags here to be in it. I think you're right kevjuice about there being a lot less people here now, this long after a new dana post and new wavs there's usually a lot more posts. So, here's a rough list of gamertags, just taken from the posts in the responses to this most recent message from dana. I know there are a lot more that would want to be on here that mentioned thier gamertags in previous blog posts. Sooooo, if they are still here, they should list thier gamertag now. I'm gonna post an initial list of the most recent people gamertags listed here. As more people request maybe someone can copy, paste, and add to the list. Anyway, here it is, don't get mad if you aren't added, but here's the list so far, maybe we can all send out friend requests now, so we're on eachothers friends lists. Another quick thought. The clan COULD get too big. But a somewhat bigger clan might be okay 'cause we're obviously not ALL gonna be on live all the time... at least once exhaustion sets in after the games been out a while. A bigger clan could mean we'd always have a team on playing constantly to make a name for ourselves. Can a clan be playing in multiple matches at the same time? if not that could be a drawback to this idea.
Also (sorry to be long winded) if our clan can keep up with ALL the posts that show up here, maybe dana will let us post in the comments of whatever ends up being her last post, and use that for a place to leave messages to each other. We'd just have to read through the whole thing so as not to miss anything. Otherwise if Dana closes her blog at some point, we can just use mine. I'll have to put up a post to leave comments on.

It doesn't matter if theres a few, but I'll tell you this, as soon as I get that Halo 2 game at 6:00 AM Pacific Time, I will make a clan for all of us.
