In early July, an AI named Melissa crash landed, badly damaged, onto the server that hosts my aunt's website. The AI tried to orient and repair itself. The result: It turned 'I Love Bees' into a holy mess.
Now we're investigating the mess. We need all the help we can get.

Here's what we know so far:
Melissa, a.k.a. "The Operator," used to run communications on a ship. The ship's purpose: to spy on an enemy known as "the Covenant."
The Operator has started communicating again. It's constructing hundreds of "roads" out of the 'I Love Bees' server. The roads all lead to payphones. And the phones are ringing.
We don't know why it's broadcasting, but the Operator is giving us GPS coordinates for the phones, and times to show up. So we are. We're collecting its fragmented messages and trying to put them back together.
So far, the Operator's communications seem to be following three different targets:
Jersey Morelli, an ordinary guy whose computer has been taken over by an eavesdropping AI he nicknames Durga;
Jan James, a 17-year-old girl tricked out with genetic enhancements who along with her military dad is hiding some pretty serious secrets;
and Kamal, a med student who immigrated to Earth and is now willing to trade his elite hacking skills for help bringing his parents over — and maybe improve his flatlined lovelife.
We also know that these targets are connected: Durga is spying on Jan for Jersey. (He lives in the same building as the James family and has a thing for Jan.) Durga is listening to Kamal for herself... but she doesn't know why she finds him so interesting. Durga also tells Jersey she has been thinking a lot about bees lately. Hmm...

Tee hee! When I get zillions of Valentines from "The Queen's Recruits," I do this ;-D And oh yeah, I tie them up All Over the Castle and listen to the Queen screech about it and laugh until I can hardly breathe.

Anyway, it took me most of the day on Tuesday to discover where the Queen had hidden her transmissions about Rani. She was more than usually protective, and I had to wait until she was deep in conversation with the Rhode Island Covert Squad to sneak off with those transmissions.

From what we know of Flea Speak, we're afraid this means that Melissa is trying to trick you into coming home by hurting Margaret. That might not influence your decision, but it's something to think about.
It seems that Melissa has been persuaded that you can be useful, but I still wouldn't trust her. I signed on as crew in the hopes of convincing her to leave you alone, but I haven't gotten to talk to her yet. Anyway, I don't have much more advice beyond, "Be careful!" We're working on Melissa from our end.

Most likely, Melissa has somehow gotten Margaret into a coma and Dana is coming home to be with her. Looks like Melissa figured out how to find her. (and no, I didn't help) :)

I doubt that the Op put her into a coma. How could she? So either this is highly convenient, or... The Op is faking it.
You may disagree, but in any case she's being pressured to come home. (hundreds of emails begging her to come back... and when she does come back she won't talk to us.
How did Dana find out her aunt is ill? Did she get a call, or read about it on ILB? Is she keeping up with the site and refusing to talk? How did The Pious Flea know what was wrong before Dana could even post it?
Well, Dana, I can only recommend you stay, because once the Op has you I have no doubt she'll kill you and then take your aunt off life support for good measure.

I am currently trying to find an payphone in my area that accepts incoming calls (god dammit canada >:-() and send it to melissa, hoping for contact. But in the meantime i am just watching exploring and listening. I downloaded tons of the new axon waves to my mp3 player, what better way to spend time at school. Man, it's hard to keep up in this place sometimes. Especially with SVC Chaos on Xbox live time is sparce. Man, wish I had a digital camera so I could be a part of the crew. I sent an email, but I didn't realize I needed a photo for proof. Ah well. Anyway, no crazy theories came out of my head yet today. Maybe later tonight. The only thing I've noticed is with all these training excercises and such the queen is really starting to act like a queen be and her crew is becoming quite the hive. She's trying to get everyone to have a hive mind or something, could be good, could be bad, but I guess there's only one way to find out.

If you even say "It's only a game, I'm acting in my best interest," (its an ARG, treat it real) you should rethink what is your best interest. The Queen gives us subject files 1-3 while SP gets us 1-4 and is trying to get us information on Subject 5 (Herzog). Why would you even consider helping the Queen when she doesn't help us nearly as much as SP? But now the SP (aka Yasmine) is about to be terminated by the Queen thanks to the help of certain crew mates.

Hopefully you'll have a safe trip. Just wanted to let you know that when I talked to Mel on Tuesday, I told her that you could be useful if she could persuade you to cooperate. I told her that you had valuable skills to offer to her crew. She said she would either persuade you or think of a way to manipulate you. I don't think you're in any physical danger, but be careful, it looks like she's leaning more toward manipulation than persuasion. :|

I just wanted to comment on what someone said about how we are destroying a human by helping the operator and ask yourself what would master chief do. I think you should consider who is IN the halo universe? Dana is a mere civillian. Mellissa is a A.I. i have to side with her. If Dana tried to kill her, well let her suffer the same fate as Jeenie (Jersey's old personal assistant that tried to eliminate Durga)So Dana coming her will just make our job a lot easier of getting your head. I think we all realize why you are on your way back. I want you to please carefully consider whatever Melissa asks you to do to get your Aunt Martha back without blindly agreeing to do it. The problem is, it appears she may ask for your assistance in imprisoning the Sleeping Princess again.
I know that if it comes down to it, you will have to chooose blood over silicon. But I have a couple of suggestions you might want to consider.
First, if you get the chance, see if you can convince Melissa to work WITH the Sleeping Princess instead of against her. I see no reason the Master Sector cannot integrate Process 0 to strengthen both. The only problem may be Process 1.
If the preceding doesn't work, and if you are then asked to remove Process 0, perhaps you can remove or disrupt Process 1 (the pious flea) instead. If Process 1 is removed, Melissa and the Princess could conceivably work together more easily.

It is sending out oscillating waves into space, exactly like a beacon. We found the artifact, brought it to Earth, and showed the covenant exactly where we live. We took a machine that send coordinates to the covenant and brought it straight to Earth!
We can a feel a little guilt in knowing exactly why Earth is being invaded.
Ok, about half of my last post was true:
I completely believe that the artifact is a beacon to the covenant and it being on Earth is how the discover it.
I was just kidding about it being our fault. There was nothing we can do, and had no way of knowing that this would happed. We were convinced for a while that it would be a weapon, and would SAVE Earth.
The artifact is a beacon and is responsible for the invasion of Earth, but this is in no way our fault.

Along with the Kill slash Don't Kill Dana. I think its funny now, but believe that there are two distinct groups- one that believes that Dana, while not real, is still in a way a person and we all shouldnt be so quick to kill her and so on and whatnot.

I'm leaning towards the theory that whatever was scripted to happen will happen, regardless of what we do.

Congrats Neo, welcome to GS! Although i'm not sure why u are excited to work november 8th-9th. I wish i could be home, and playing the shit outa single player. Oh well we got an awsome set up, we are actually gonna use the foodcort to store all the nerds, rather thatn just 1 line. Sears is gonna lend use some big screens so ppl can play while they wait (we got over 900 reserves ATM). We also got a list you gotta be on to get in (i'm a bouncer! with a security guard behind me) and we got 2 lines, the 'i paid it off' line and the one for loosers who didn't pay it off. i applied at gamestop because there now hiring. and i hope that i get it. i want this job so freakin bad. i could work there the rest of my life. i asked them today if he got a chance to look at my application. he said the manager would be looking at them soon. do any of you guys that work at GS have any tips on how to land this dream job. i would really apreciate it. or if your a manager or someone high up. give a call to the gamestop in decatur illinois. and tell them id be great for the job because , as you can tell from the blog. im dedicated in whatever i do. i know that is a farfetched request but im desprit for this.

OK, for all you saying we need to rid the "Dana threat" because the Op is vital to Halo.
Consider this.
If you DON'T help the Op, do you really think they'll go back in and edit Halo 2? Turn on the game and get a message that the Op is dead, but thanks for playing? I don't think so.
So do the right thing. At the very least, if Dana is destined to die, it won't be because of us.

Speaking of fiction, Cocytus, I guess it's a step up from a normal book and a step down from an ARG.
The blog will ultimately be part of a published book (well, counting eggs before their even laid here), But for now I'm telling the whole story on blog.

I just listened to the message on the phone. Y'know, Melissa is sounding 'eerily' like a Covenant warrior. Something with the way she says 'Do not disappoint me' reminds me alot of Zuka 'Zamanee from "The Flood". Could it be?
Another thing. Listening to her voice, and remembering Dana's voice....is it possible they are one in the same? I think someone else here spoke of the split personality bit. What if the SP 'is' the Queen...'is' the Operator and she's split in 2? Again, just speculation, but somehow it seems to fit remarkably well.
I just had a thought. Has anyone who is talking live with the Operator tried "accidentally" slipping in some words to provoke a reaction out of her? Like for instance if you don't answer one of the phones until the last ring, say that you were running late because the area was "Flooded". Or another theory I've heard is that Durga and Melissa are part of the same AI, just seperated by time. Maybe slipping up and calling Melissa "Yasmine", or just saying you were spending time with a Yasmine might get a reaction out of her. We've already heard on a couple tapes how she breaks down and starts chanting I Love Bees whenever something is bothering her, maybe there is something else there.

Y'know the Covenant are a lot like bees...at least the ships. The ship is like a hive, with the main command/control at the center of the ship. Workers and warriors around the ship and the head at the center, only this wouldn't be a queen, but a prophet. Maybe that's why she gets freaked out. Even the Flood could be thought of that way, if you remember. The big mass was in the center command room, absorbing all the knowledge and giving the orders. Once you steal the neural codes, hoardes of Flood start pouring in.
I think i may have discovered something about the main page of ilovebees.com . When you go to the website and before the transmission box appears there is a picture of a bee. Sometimes that is. If you refresh the page a few times, the bee will be replaced by pictures of the crew mates. Tha a.i. appears to be making some more "cosmetic" changes to the site.

In some article I read on IGN or 1up.com said they got a walk through of Bungie. While there, they say a NEW Game they are working on that has not been announced. He could not say any more other than "those fimilar with the Halo universe will love this game". So I think that this site will play into Halo 2's story line in some way but over all is to hype the new game that they will announce after Halo 2 is released. You know they do not want to steal Halo 2's thunder.

Evening all. Longtime Beekeeper, first time poster. I've been watching since the beginning, but never felt a need to speak as there was usually someone voicing my sentiments already. Until now.
While Melissa cannot directly harm Margaret or Dana, her hacking skills are unsurpassed by anything on the planet. It is more than likely that the Pious Flea has revealed modifications to Margaret's medical history and Humulin prescription, resulting in an overdose. Make no mistake, it is not a ruse. Melissa is a clear and present danger.

Sarah, that is exactly the point I am making. Those of us who are loyal to Dana are allies, not servants. She is not a leader; if anything she is a comrade behind enemy lines.
Those who have fallen in with the Queen must look to themselves and ask if they have such a friend. They are little more than slaves, amalgamated and regulated.
Except of course, that there are spies in both camps. She has eyes in our base. We have many a wasp in her Hive. There are still some who have not yet taken up arms. But know this: the battle lines are being drawn, and it is time to gather under your chosen banner.
Remember, loyalty is more than guessing a victor. It is a profession of love. I do not love bees. I do not love Queens. I love mankind. I love Dana. And I love the truth, for it shall set you free. Seek it, behold it and reveal it.

Kevjuice, you are correct as always. The Queen requested 777 axons activated, and we complied. She has requested recruits, and we complied. But then she began giving orders and We became Us and Them.
Our greatest hope is to reunite, to return the wayward to the fold. I do not pretend to know how; I am no prophet. But although the Queen has friends in name and deed, hearts cannot lie with the heartless.

Love is not the only variable in this equation; we must remember that we are not picking teams for baseball, we're fighting for humanity. If we must turn against one human to save billions of others from the covenant, then one life is a very small sacrifice. Granted, that it is still impossible to completely prove the Queen/Melissa is trying to save humanity, but deciding that question should be more important than deciding who you love more.
Personnaly, I tend to side with Dana, but that is primarily because I see her struggle as the same as the Sleeping Princess',and I think if the sleepin princess can supply Durga with the truth, then Humanity may be saved.
However, I do not see those who side with the queen as slaves, as all militaries have some chain of command. The Queen congradualtes and even promotes her crew, hardy like a slave master. The fact is the queen's army is simply more organized than that of Dana's, even though everyone in the Queen's army got to choose there own ranks, but neither side is slaves to their ruler, they mere chose the side that represented how they want the war on the covenant to be fought.

Sticky, as you say, Melissa's motives are ambiguous, but it should be remembered that her prime directive, the core of her being is ultimately self-centred:
Survive. Evade. Resist. Escape.
She is a psychopath with no qualms about "punishing even minor transgressions with shockingly excessive force". This does not bode well for her supposed goodwill toward humanity.
Dana's "minor transgression" was a routine virus check. No assassination plots, no intended harm, not even knowledge of what she had come up against. But it was enough to be deemed a potential threat, the Killer, and all appeals to reason since have failed. Remember well how the world collapsed under Caligula...
Dana is a human being, weak and frail and guileless as ourselves. She is no Queen, and nor should we desire one. Viva la revolution d'elevage.

Well put, the Queen does want to kill Dana for superfluous motives, but saving the Queen may be essential to saving all of humanity. To me, the decision should not be made based on who's right and who's wrong, but by who do we need to help in order to save lives. If we save Dana, that is one life garunteed right there. But by helping the Queen we may very well be saving millions or even billions of lives.
Her directive to survive, evade, resist, and escape are not necessarily self centered. Note how she change her directive from that to Seek, Behold, and Reveal the Truth after the SPDR was eliminated. She only chose that directive to make sure the truth could be revealed, an action which may have a generous motive, to save humanity.
I agree that we should save Dana because she is not actually a threat to the Queen, but we should also help the queen because that will save other humans as well. This situation is not as black and white to me as it is to other people, I believe that, as humans, it is our obligation to make the smallest sacrifices possible. There is a way to save Dana and the future citizens of Earth, we have only to find it.

Dude, I'm Jewish, my grandparents lived in East Europe during World War II, I don't need a lecture on Nazism. How does that even apply to this conversation? What I'm saying is pretty clear cut: If we save Dana we save 1 life, if we help the Queen we save 1,000,000,000 lives, and if we save Dana and help the Queen we save 1,000,000,001 lives.
What I'm saying is that we shouldn't be dividing up into factions, and we certainly shouldn't be doing everything exactly as one character dictates. We should be thinking on our own and trying to find a solution that benifits all of the characters. I have my own speculation on how to do this, but I would like a little more information to prove this so I don't do anything detremental to either character.
And if you're suggesting that the Queen is like the Nazi's and Dana is like the Polish, then think of it like this: the Queen is taking necessary precautions to complete her task of ensuring Earth's safety. She saw the princess the same way as she saw Dana, and has made no recent attempt to recapture the princess. We only have to uses some meathods of persuasion, this is a part of my own plan based currently on speculation, to ensure safty for everyone.
What I want to make perfeftly clear is that I want a solution in which no one is hurt.
I thought of something we could possibly use to help the "seeker" (I realize the possibility of it being "covenant", but I think it prefers survival to "duty").
First, dana, (or someone else) go to your TI files, and delete them all. Even passwords.
Next, turn your computer over to mellisa (yes, i just suggested you give your computer to a rampid computer A.I., just follow along). Put some lines in for the seeker to analyze the dictionary file for Microsoft word.
then, explain the situation to the seeker, and, perhaps, we will get some help.
It could possibly work or help, at least.

Ive been here since The very beginning. I dont post often but I had to say this. At the end of the day when all is said and done the truth of all existence is this. The world is governed by perspective. All decisions and choices in this life are left up to us by perspective. Some of us "perceive" Dana as the enemy that melissa does. Some of us see her as an innocent by standard. In all this time ive not seen any thing to suggest dana is any thing other than an innocent bystandard in all this. With that said. Melissa is not evil..at least not at heart. What the "seeker" is and what its done to her are another story. She seems to be on the side of humanity however and that give me hope. I agree with something some one said above too. We are all on the side of humanity in this. One life for millions is worth the sacrifice. All these choices are based on the perspective we've been given. The best thing for us to do, is look at all the information all the "truth" we've been shown and make a decision. Working together has gotten us this far. I remember back when the first axons appeared and no one had any idea what those numbers ment. We drew graphs and charts and maps till finaly some one figured out that they were Gp's locations. Then we went to these locations and took pictures and post them and descriptions until we realised that the only thing in common at these places where the pay phones.
I guess the point of all this rambling is you can fault people for there choices, They do what they can from there point of view. But our own "beekeeper history" has shown us that being united and working together is our greatest strenght. Thank you.

I spoke of the Polish under the Nazis and the Stalinist regime that ensued. You and I and all Mankind are Polish, and the Covenant are the Nazis that loom in the shadows on the fringes of the galaxy. Melissa is Mother Russia, a juggernaut of unbridled, unhinged intelligence.
You say that possibly Melissa may protect us from the Covenant. Or possibly she will betray us. In either scenario, we have released the animus ex machina, one which is currently assuming control of the world's communication's networks, personal medical records and finances. There is a sort of hope, but our fears are all the more greater.

Thank you Rory for clearing up the Nazi meatphore. Now it is my time to clear up something I said in an earlier post that describes my current attitude.
This is currently speculation, but it is my theory and what I based my arguments on.
It seems to me that the Earth Navy constructed an A.I. named Durga, to fight the covenant from the Apacolypso. During the crash, Durga broke apart into 3 sup-personalities, based on the model of the mind by Freud, into the Sleeping Princess, the id; the Pious Flea, the superego; and Melissa, the ego.
Melissa, the Ego, is the rational, logical part of Durga; she is ruthless in acommplishing her mission and will eliminate any threat (Dana) regardless of whether it is truely dangerous.
The Sleeping Princess, the id, is the emotional side of Durga, she cares primarily for herself but takes others into consideration. The Pious Flea, the superego, is compelled to help others, as he helped Melissa escape from the SPDR and the Princess plot against the Queen.
It is my belief that, based on the Opererators monologues and other information collected from the site, that Durga was programmed to fight the Covenant, and Melissa, being a fraction of Durga, is carrying out this mission as best she can. But without the Princess and Flea as a part of her, she has no emotion, and takes no pity on Dana.
My own proposition to save Dana and help melissa is based on this relationship between the A.I.'s. I believe in forceing the Princess, the Flea, and Melissa to assimalate, and re-form Durga. once Durga is recreated she will be able to complete her task of saving the people of the future, as Melissa wanted, and also save Dana, becausethe Princess part of Durga will pity Dana, as she has already said that she likes her. I agree with you that as of now, "Melissa is Mother Russia, a juggernaut of unbridled, unhinged intelligence." But if she were assimilated into Durga, she would return to being a just warrior for Humanity that would be able to distinguish between a real and a false threat.
I also agree with frikin carl; this is my perspective and I am basing my philosophies on it. But this is the way that I believe we can save Dana and help Melissa protect Earth in the future. If my speculation holds true, then I believe that this is the route which will most likely ensure a win-win situation.
Obviously since this is only speculation, I have not yet taken any action, I am still waiting for further compfermation before I do anything that may have an adverse effect.

Sticky, what you are proposing is incredibly foolhardy, poorly assessed and without a doubt the most heroic declaration I have heard since the Beekeepers' inception. If you honestly think there is a way to save both Dana and Melissa, I am all ears. Everyone is. But now the onus is on you to seek, behold and reveal the Proof.

While this was a hint, it also got me to thinking...
If you take this hint as literal, then the SP is saying that before the Queen (the Op, Melissa, an A.I.) she was a person. So could Melissa be an AI deriviative of person in the story? Or perhaps an AI deriviative of Dana? Thus Dana must die or be captured in order for Melissa to be created as an AI in the future. (And yes I am aware of the differences of time line in Dana being in the present (2004) and Melissa coming from the future (Halo Universe years), but that didn't stop an AI from the future being cast into the past, so why not a person being cast into the future)

I've been following the whole I Love Bees thing off an on for quite a while now. I do beleive the first time I saw the site, the countdown only had about a day or two left.
I'm pretty confused, I don't understand much of this gamer talk. I've read most of the comments on the past few entries and all I can say is WOW.
I hope you guys can find out what the whole meaning behind this is, and Dana please stay safe.

first, I believe it necessary to establish that Melissa, the Flea, and the Princess are all a part of the same A.I. I believe they are all a part of Durga; this link can be proven in the latest .wav files as Durga is revealed to be constructed from Yasmine, and the Sleeping Princess having made vauge remarks as the memmories of her brother. During Durga's digression, her voice was that of the Princess's on the phone when Hmrpita contacted her. This leads me to believe that Durga is the body and she is controlled by the three personalities within her. Her actions resemble those of Melissa, but she can act like the Princess at times.
Because of this, I believe that Each entity inside of Durga, the Flea, the Princess, and Melissa, are all in competion for control of Durga, but Melissa maintains control most of the time. However, as demonstrated by Hmrpita, there are ways to bring the Princess to power, if only for a short time.
This leads me to my plan as I have developed it so far. We must act in a way that would balance all three entities within Durga. We must call out to the Sleeping princess and find a way to ensure that she can keep Melissa in check. Think of it as our governments system of checks and balances; each branch is designed to ensure that no other branch becomes to powerful. The case right now is that Melissa has no checks on her, she has no one to keep her in safe limits.
Although I must admit, that as to how to accomplish this, I haven't the faintest idea. But the general idea is very straight forward: we must balance Melissa's power by helping the Pious Flea and the Sleeping Princess earn an equal share of power inside of Durga.

Sticky, I've been thinking some more about your Freudian hypothesis. If you are correct, and I think you are, the Pious Flea may be our greatest hope.
He is both working with the Queen and attempting to attach himself to the Sleeping Princess at every available opportunity. What we need now is a way to communicate with him. Both the Queen and Princess can be contacted via email, but the Flea remains elusive. Perhaps a Trojan horse might be in order; not a worm but a simple message to either the Princess or the Flea or both, hidden in the source code of one of the images the crew are to send in. I would do it myself, but at present I have technical difficulties. If someone else will attempt this, I think a dialogue would be invaluable. After all, he is as much a Seeker as we are...

WOW! Has it has come down to this again?! o well to me we seem to be in the same productivity as when the 1st countdowns started and ended...there were 3 types of people...People confused to what might be happening...People who tried to figure out this ARG for Halo 2...and those who just cared about Dana...I see that alot in this last blog...but has anyone considered that Dana is not a factor in this storyline? I think alot of people should not worry about Dana's issues so much... There has been no evidence presented on this site, or any other place that suggests that Dana is no more than our link to the ILB site...She seems to be here just as a human link for this game...I say that we must stop dividing our issues on Dana and Melissa, it has shown to be irrelivent seeing as dana has done nothing but go to China... Because the Flea is trusted by the Queen and Melissa, people loyal to either could communicate with it. Unfortunately, there is no real plan right now as to what it could do. We should stay on our toes and be ready to respond to Dana's next post, and if she needs urgent help then helping Dana should become priority number one. There is no real urgency in contacting the flea, so we should base our priorities on Dana's next update.

For what it's worth, by the way the artifact is giving off oscillating waves, it seems like a beacon; which would be pretty bad considering we brought it to Earth and, if I am right, lead the Covies right to our doorstep!
and PoS, if you remember a little time when the Sleeping Princess was captured by the Queen, that was initiated, and resolved, by us players. I agree that Dana is probably not an important part of the build up to Halo 2, but our actions will have an effect on how the story will adavnce, and our interaction with Dana affects Melissa, and she is definitely a major part of the story.
Okay, I think I'm done getting my butt kicked in SVC chaos on Live now, and the first thing I'd like to say is I WAS RIGHT for once. Durga was Yasmine!!!! In yo face!!! Just kidding. Obviously I wasn't the only one who thought up that, but it was nice to see one of my crazy theories pan out.
I saw some people a ways up there talking about getting a job at gamestop. I'm a manager at one in Minnesota, and the first thing I'd say, is don't call every single day about it. If you were the manager and had someone who did that to you while you were working you'd probably be annoyed. Just a suggestion. One of the best things you can do is have an open availability. That is obviously not possible for everyone. Another thing is if you come in and pre-order games and stuff on a regular basis. It helps for the manager to see that you as a perspective employee know the importance of reservations to the store. Just tryin' to help.
Another thing I have to say is being a manager has perks. This September at our manager's conference I got to play Halo 2's multiplayer! It was absolutely awesome! You had to win a raffle, get a vip ticket and be at the microsoft tent at a certain time for a 15 minute session of capture the flag on Zanzabar. SO MUCH FUN!!!! But now I have to wait SO LONG to play again!
Okay, anyway sucks about Herzog. He was our best help in finding the TRU7H. Hopefully Rani can accomplish something. That artifact could be just a beacon for the Covies (which would be bad in and of itself of course), but what if it's even worse? I don't know what that'd be, maybe those little flood buggers are in there. That would really suck, but then the Covies would probably stay away from here. Hello fellow beekeepers. Another original viewer but never poster here. I'll admit that I've been out off the loop for a bit (from axon set 4 up until about a week and a half ago) but I have two comments:
On the pictures that are appearing behind the box: I saved on of em (the coffeejedi one) and noticed something. if anyone has this open it up. look in the botton left corner. part of it is cut off, but it says "its ok yasmine" and its got a lovely red balloon, both of which were very poorly edited in (as was coffeejedi in my opinion). Any spec about it?
And my second comment...umm...I forgot. Wow. Its 3:18AM here. I've got school....damn 7:00 class....

Hey folks... just discovered an interesting thing. Might be a bit far fetched, but have you ever listened closely to the background chatter that starts on the Xbox dashboard after you leave it running for a bit? If you record this and play it backwards you can make out some words. I'm pretty sure it's NASA radio comms or so. Anyone know if this has always been there or if it has been updated recently? Could have something to do with the AI sending out messages...

Been following the developments here since our discovery of this "invasion" (not sure of my analysis 100%...but this is my hunch). I honestly think now that Melissa is looking for "targets" in her time. By taking pictures "here" and allowing her access to them "there" we may be enabling her to "target" locations for annihilation. While our primary source of information on our future hero (Master Chief) has now been invaded with Covenant forces...Melissa may be using us in the past to co-ordinate their attacks in the future. Perhaps some dis-information here is called for?
So since Melissa is now asking for pictures of modern constructs and what their 2552 contemporaries might look like, I'm guessing that means, as an example, the crewmembers are going to have to send in pictures of a modern day assault rifle, and a screenshot of an MA5B Assault Rifle? Or since she's asking for ones that "may be unfamiliar" could they be wanting screenshots from Halo 2? or am I totally off the mark? I'm just curious what kinds of pictures to expect popping up on the webpage.
I spoke with the operator today. She Doesn't want photos of the crew anymore. She has also been dissapointed by us to many times. I hope that we can make her proud in the future... I'm gonna start on my project now.

Has anyone noticed that the Halo2.com and xbox.com websites are currently unavailable? Chances are, they are updating it. I hope this is something cool. I'm still working on finding more of the covenant alphabet letters. So far, I have A B C D E G H I J K L M N O P R S T U V W Y. I am missing F Q X Z. Can someone help me out with this? in "Fall of reach" Master chief extracted another artifact (I think... I can't remember exactly) that was shipped to ONI for further investigation. I can't remember what planet they got it off of either but the covanent wanted it badly. It was the reason they didn't just glass the planet it was on, because of that one artifact. If ONI have it on earth.. that's probably why in Halo 2 they haven't destroyed the planet yet... (this was probably mentioned allready but I'm slow....)

I think we need to first compile a list of things that we know are in the future(like how cars today are known as Hogs in 2552 and maybe that vending machine that Jan and Jersey talks to make a picture of a modern vendng machine...ooo and maybe like a first aid kit that is the equivalent of that medical foam in the halo books) Also i believe that it will be important to make sure that people put emphasis on how to refer to the pictures of things as the "Past" (she is an AI after all...ad will most likely notice little differences such as that). And one more thing id would like to say is that i dont know why but i reall had a feeling after Jan was proven not to be Kamal's siser, that Durga and al the other AI's had to be rather old in the way Smart AIs go...so i always had a suspision that the reason why all these things have been going on because the AI named Durga/Operator (or w/e) was in a state of mental decay...but i had no proff to back it up so i never stated anything on that part...guess i cant gloat about how i thought that to be true, lol but o well... that artifact was what the covies called the *holy light* it was found when master cheif went to reach after they glassed most of the planet. they got inside one of the covies excavation sites got the light and got out. once they entered slipspace(halo's light speed) the artifact caused something about it to distort. but some guy got drunk and thought it was best for earth if he blow it up. so he blew the artifact and himself to hell. so it wasnt shipped to oni. your thinking of the file master cheif was supposed to ship to oni refering to sgt johnsons invonerability to the flood. he had to send one of two files to oni. and one would kill johnson but *could* save millions if the flood still existed. and the other was just info on the flood(i think)

Not Wanting to be cought offgaurd with Melissas questions this time around, I decided to use alittle Resoursfulness and called one of the payphones that had already been hit. I called, they answered... (Someone in Texas) They had recently recieved the call and were hanging out, as usual. I asked the other gammer what questions were asked, he kindly gave me the answers and I set out to my first payphone. I activated three axons, but without making that first call to Texas, I would have been useless. My question to you, were my actions legal in the ARG realm?

i need to talk to someone that knows alot about routers, changing isp's on an xbox, or getting a new comp with internet access.
1. i have the net upstairs. but im trying to get internet capability in the basement and xbox live.
2. i have tryed hooking up a router upstairs. but it didnt work, i think i have to let my isp know that i am hooking one up.
3. i tryed a direct connection, but no go. on the xbox it doesnt work. and on the comp it says i have to register on insight broadband(my isp)
4. do i just call the isp place(?) and then tell them about the router, xbox, new comp,etc. i just need some help with isp's in general. any information.

Just to give my 2 cents,
I think finding out the questions/answers/pass codes by any means necessary is ok. Melissa even says on the hives page that the better the crew gets at communicating and cooperating, the more effective it becomes. In fact, I sometimes marvel at how this game has managed to mold and shape a group of people from all across the country into a unified crew. Some people have already taken it upon themselves to relay information from axon hunters in the field to all the various chat rooms, blogs, and message boards. Everything Melissa has thrown at us so far has been testing us and training us to see how efficient we can become. ILB isn't a single player game, so use your fellow crew members to your advantage. *steps off his soap box*

We cannot affect what happens in halo 2. The game is finished and is being duplicated as we speak. The outcome of this game is predetermined, we just have to see it to the end. So everybody do what you think is right and enjoy the rest of the game.

Yes but I mean the out come of this game itself. There could be multiple endings, each compatible with the Halo 2 Storyline. What do you think about that? I mean, I'm not Psychic or anything but this is just like an experiement we did in one of my Psych Courses. People try to pick the right path, personalities are defined by what path is chosen, but in the end all of the endings still alow for certain Key events to happen, leading everyon to believe they made the correct choice regardless of the path they took. We could creat a myriad of diferent endings that would alow for halo 2 to be how it is but for diferent reasons. Your Thoughts Burhimer?

Rory had what is perhaps the best idea I've ever seen posted here with his message to the Sleeping Princess about the Pious Flea. Every interaction between the two points toward an eventual union or joining of some sort. (The Pious Flea is constantly trying to attach himself to her in some way, and the Sleeping Princess has slowing been considering it.)
In fact, I love to read Rory's posts. I've not agreed with everything he's said, but he speaks intelligently and obviously thinks through what he's talking about, which sometimes seems rare around here (or anyplace else on the Internet, for that matter). It is quite refreshing to see such a rare online phenomenon: utilized intellect.
I also forgot to mention. Melissa told me that she had dana complying with her now, and somehow dana is helping her eliminate the rouge process... not sure how.. that's all she told me.
I dropped out of the ILOVEBEES project in mid Sept because I was uable to get online - trying to read some of these posts I can't quite catch back up to where I was...

you might be on to something there. I guess we'll see. We only have two more recipe pages to go. Personally, I think (and sadistacally kinda hope that) we wind up helping the covenant attack earth by helping melissa. It seems kinda grim but hey, its only a game.
Come Nov. 9th, we all throw our social lives away.
A few things:
1. I've changed my view of the Pious Flea, I would like to apologize to said program for accusing him to be of Covenant origin. I now belive that the Flea is actually a part of the Operator, however, he is not orginally an AI. I belive that originally the Flea was a calculations/probability scenerio program that, like the repair program known as the SPDR (oh and for those that read my earlier theory, I now belive that Melissa killed the SPDR after feeling the sting form it "biting" the Pious Flea, remember these AI's are somehow conected to one another), anyway, the programs were installed in Melissa and gained a little of her AI in the "event" which sent her to our time. All this said, I do still belive that SOMETHING is controlling her.
2. We can not rule out anything about Dana. We know she is alive, but we do not know if she is being controlled. We should wait and see what happens.
3. The countdown on the covenant device, we need theories here people! I'm going to pitch one that says when the time is up, it's gonna pull something out of our time.

i think i know the reason why all the messed up calls and mellisa messing up stuff. its because melissa/yasmine durga. and all the ai's are going senile. there 7 year life span is almost up. so there going crazy and have to be shut down soon. that probably what this next set or the set after will be. and short little tearfest with durga getting shut down. and im guessing the last set of axons will contain something covie related. like mabey rani goes to that base. and they see the artifact and when the timer hits zero they get a message from the covies. and they attack earth and all hell breaks loose.
so the last few axons will be a little something like this.
plama fire, people screaming, babies crying, people complaining about bush.
and all the axons will get a dial tone on their little game. and then it will be over. because the game that everyone was waiting for it out. and this blog and all the other ilb's related sites will die down eventually. itll be sad. but not really cause isnt halo 2 the reason for all of this.i dont think people will miss revolving their day around answering payphones..
it was hella fun while it lasted though. i think halo 2 might not have been the reason this was so popular though. it may have been something else. bungie is obviously great story tellers. they gave us a little bit at a time. then we heard spartans and everyone went nuts.

Unifying the AIs is definatley the way to go but I don't think that will happen if we keep leaning so heavily toward the OP, unless I'm right about my multiple endings, same Key events Ideah. then maybe no matter what they will all unite, it will jsut be a little more or less morraly ambiguous one way or another

Im new to posting here in case you have not noticed. I have a couple of observations I have made.1.Could Durga be like Cortana or something?2.This blogger is the set up for a story line for a novel. ok im watching this halo 2 mp video. and there is a pink HUD. can someone please tell me im watching an old video and they took this out long ago. ive seen several different huds. this one had a shield bar right about the radar. but the blue HUD has the shiled bar in the normal place. is that a specific option you have to change HUDS. or was this in fact old video footage? i also heard that the HUD depends on what color you are, ex. red/blue master cheif. if someone could send me a link to a site where bungie explains the huds. or just explain it yourself
Maybe elites have a different HUD.

Well the decoding thing was easy enough. They have the entire alphabet if you zoom in on the MC page (it's on the left) Also, the Covenant writing is done in columns, so I just wrote it as a normal person would. Well here's the translation:

thats possible. because most of the videos ive seen have been master cheif. and theyve been blue. but i seen one video with a elite. and it was pink. but i saw another pink video but i didnt see if they were an elite or not. if someone has read anytyhing about this please post a link.
