This is a good thing. We now know what Dana is doing and that she is safe. It seems that the rivalry between Dana and Melissa factions will dissapate, allowing for a Sleeping Princess faction to form and challege them. This is, unfortunately, a necessary rivalry. In order to keep Aunt Margaret alive, at least a few people must help Dana and Melissa, but I maintain that it is vital that Melissa, the Princess, and the Flea be assimilated back into the whole Operator. I encourage people to hunt the Sleeping Princess for Margaret's sake, but I call on others to help the Princess, and save them all.
I'll leave congradulating Dana on her safety and expressing sympathies for Margaret up to the rest of you.
Isn't this exactly what happened to Melissa. She had no beef with Sleeping Princess until the Flea got to her...now the Operator has gotten to Dana...maybe the Flea has something against Sleeping Princess and is able to use the Operator because the Flea has someone or something that Melissa holds dear and is threatening to hurt that object of affection if Melissa doesn't do the Flea's every whim...

The question is: what does it mean?
Either Dana is the theif or the dog.
If she's the theif, she's being hunted because she peeked onto the server and saw Melissa.
If she's the dog, then she has agreed to work with the cat(Melissa) to hunt the theif(the Princess) for the sake of the old man(Margaret).
I beleive that the latter is true, and it relates to her new deal with Melissa. Unfortunately, if this fable is a portent, then Dana will be betrayed by Melissa.

SP's where it's at, but you've got to do what your extortionist tells you.
I'd focus my energies on getting these two crazy bitches to be friends, instead of trying to take out one or the other.
I don't know how much helping any of these AI's is going to help. If there is a strong connection between durga and melisa and either they are parts of the same ai or came from the same ship and were possibly created at the same time, then Melissa could be going rampant. What the heck can we do in that situation? Will reuniting the seperate personalities fix this? Maybe. Can we shut them down at all if the do go rampant? Has anyone let an AI go rampant? Did we ever see the effects from it fully in the marathon series, and if so does that even relate here at all? Wish I had even close to as many answers as questions, but alas, I'm at a lose.
Also I saw the subject of gamertags come up in the last set of posts. My gamertag is the same as my name here. fearing. That'll probably be where most here will be after Nov 9th I'm guessing.

Anywho. Just a thought. If the SP can get messages to durga, any chance aside from "revealing the truth" the her, maybe she can use durga to fight off the queen, or maybe even help Dana and poor old Aunt Margaret.

I will do the best I can to assist you and protect Margaret. Melissa is obviously either WEAK or going rampant to sink to the depths of harming one person to bend the will of another. Obviously, Melissa should be dealt with. We need to send a message to the flea to take care of SP and The Queen, once and for all. THE THR33 MUST BECOME 1NE.

After reading the 3 books on Halo multiple times and observing the events of the ilovebees saga, I have come to the realization that Melissa may in fact be a copy of Durga. In First Strike, Cortana captures a Covenant AI and finds it has the ability to replicate itself. Later on, she finds she is too overburdened and reluctantly uses the Covenant process of replication to compliment her processes. In doing so, she finds there are errors in her "other self" that increase exponentially with each replication. Such a phenomena can be likened to copying a copy in a copying machine multiple times; each copy is progressively filled with in discrepancies. An in discrepancy in an AI as powerful as Durga is no small threat. That being said, Melissa cannot be considered "sane" because she has errors in her core programming that manipulate her behavior and rational. If we (us "bee keepers") are to play this new chapter out right, we must determine what is more pertinent, saving a woman who is technically of no use to us, or saving an AI that has only helped our understanding of the events of ilovebees. Maybe this approach is cold, but such a problem comes down to a matter of priorities. Just my two cents. ;-)

Out of curiosity I decided to look up U.S. Naval Ranks and found something interesting. The rank of Fleet Admiral is only used during war time and was last used during World War II. One of those Fleet Admirals was William F. Halsey. Maybe it's just me but perhaps his last name was an inspiration for someone anyone on this blog would know, Dr. Halsey. Just a little tid bit of information for you guys.

Yeah I'd say the end is near. Judging by the schedule Melissa is following, we should finish up the axons around November 9! Sorry guys but if it isn't over by then I'm not worrying about this site after then, and I think half the other people will agree. I'm going to play the game! I am interested to see how this story turns out though. I think Bungie designed it to end on (or just before) November 9. I don't know whose side to pick though... Sleeping Princess or Dana. We can't worry too much about human losses, though, because there will be no real human losses. I don't think Bungie is going to let us decide who wins either. They most likely predetermined everything. Just a couple more weeks!
My question to you is - how do you know that the coma was Melissa's doing? It's quite possible she simply found out she fell into a coma (under other circumstances) and is only manipulating you to comply with her, using this random occurance in her favor.
I know you want to help your aunt, but I don't know if this is the way to go about it.
Let's... NOT help Dana. The Sleeping Princess has been nothing but help to us while Dana has only caused problems. She is the killer and has done nothing to deserve our help. What she does do is run away and expect us to feel sorry for her. The Sleeping Princess has helped us, is our friend, and should be helped. Not Dana.

Well, taking a bit from the Natural Enemies story, I guess I know where Dana's coming from saying she's the dog.
People have been saying Dana's function is expired (or never existed), and that the Princess' function is more vital than ever.
No function? She did all the grunt work, like the dog! How many of us would have stuck with this thing without Dana's help? Imagine how many people would find ILB... and have no idea how to decode it. Sure, you could google ARG, or already be involved with it, but even then...
What's the story if its not personal. Interacting with AI's, ok, that's interesting. But interacting with a human, in danger (anticipating a lot of feedback for saying "human". Shut up) that's what makes the story worthwhile. It makes it personal.
Then the princess comes along, with her privledged ability to see MORE into the game than we can, and we dump Dana faster than you can say Operator.
WE'RE responsible for where Dana is!
We brought Melissa to life, we captured the princess, we sold Dana to the Op, we told the Op about her Aunt.
We're lucky she's still posting.
Do we really want to kick out the dog?
Do we really want to trade her for the princess?
Work for Dana, but think about how to save both of them. They've BOTH HELPED, regardless of what you may say.

catguykyou, the bungie princess is a woman named alta. she works at bungie and they gave her the nickname bungie princess. im guessing because she might act prissy or something. there is a video where the guy who does weekly halo 2 reports, frankie, did a video tour of bungie. and they show alta. shes hott. she even has a princess crown thing. you should watch the video. its pretty funny. and you get to see some of the faces behind halo.

Well, as someone with a little experience in Sleeping Princess hunting, here are my suggestions.
All it took last time to get the SP captured was informing Melissa of her location (and maybe getting her to move around some, though that was never confirmed). Unfortunately that won't work this time as the Pious Flea is making it so that Melissa can't see her even if she has been informed of where she is.
So, you need to make the Sleeping Princess visible to Melissa. I see 2 ways to get this accomplished.
1 - remove the Pious Flea
2 - draw the Sleeping Princess away from the influence of the Pious Flea
How? I'm not absolutely sure, but here are some suggestions for each.
1 - Remove the Pious Flea. The main concentration of its visible messages are on the honey.html page, so that may be where its main "home" is and the best place to strike to remove it. It also seems to spend a fair amount of time on the contactme.html page talking with the Sleeping Princess, so I would look there as well.
2 - Draw the Sleeping Princess away from the influence of the Pious Flea. Previously I drew the Sleeping Princess out by giving her times to spy on Melissa when I knew no one was going to be answering the axon and therefore when Melissa would NOT be distracted as the Sleeping Princess thought she would be. She seems to be able to sneak around better now though, so I'm not sure as to how this could best be accomplished. Maybe a plea to have her help you protect your Aunt Margaret that would involve her leaving the protection of the Pious Flea to try to block Melissa. Then inform Melissa of when and where this would happen.
Alternately you could just try to remove the Sleeping Princess directly. She's hiding on the contactme.html page most of the time. I would be concerned that this would not work very well until the Pious Flea is out of the way though. It may be able to hide her from you as well as Melissa. Though on the other hand, we can all see the Pious Flea's conversations quite easily while Melissa cannot, so maybe it won't be able to hide her from you.
A last resort might be to have Melissa move to another server while you wipe the ilovebees server clean. I would definitely not try this with Melissa still on the server though, as your previous attempt proved, it was unsuccessful and just served to make her mad.

I can see many of you believe that trading Aunt Margerite's life for the SP's is acceptable given the circumstances. You believe that sacrificing the few for the POSSIBLE good of the many is the right thing to do. You've all become standish.
Aunt Margerite is not an entity, not a mysterious force with unknown motives putting code up on a website. She's a person. Take a minute to look at the pictures, rather than into them, hoping for some code.
I don't care if the SP is an innocent AI, trying its best to get out information vital to mankind; or a much more ominous AI, making us believe she's like a little girl, thereby commanding more obedience than Melissa ever could with her "drills".

Think, everyone. If we can just come up with a plan, that benefits ALL sides, we don't have to be at arms against each other.
Crew: convince Melissa to integrate the Princess instead of eliminating her; you were able to get her to use Dana instead of killing her, so this should be a breeze.
SP-Supporters (or SPArmy): I'm not sure how you/we can get our Princess on the same idea as that, but it can, and hopefully will, happen. If we do this, Dana is no longer needed, but Melissa regains her compassion and human emotions, so Dana is safe.
I don't know what to think of PF: Is he Covenant? Forerunner? Another fragment of "pure" Melissa? Or maybe the glue that holds the ultimate synthesis together? Either way, we need to figure out his purpose, to complete out task.

wow, my first post. like many ive been here sice day one. i can't read coding on pics and my folks would freak if i went to answer ringing payphones, so i am stuck. i would like to take a minute to congratulate people like Gohan and Kevjuice for their work on this site. i know i have forgotten several ppl, don't kill me.
anyway, the reason im posting is that the picture on the ILB main page, the one thats covered up by the "pop-up" has changed. it is now a picture of someone, most likely one of the crew, answering a payphone. im not sure what this means, theres probibally somethin in the coding. just lettin the front lines know. if this is old news then whoops.

Just to let you guys know. I found the new issue of electronic gaming monthly on the newsstands last night, and of course the picture on their cover is of master chief, and its cool cause they have the same mag's but different colors and it has master chief in white, red, blue, and green. Anyways, in the issue, I wont spoil too much, well maybe just one thing, Theres covenant Bee's! Yeah, sworms of them that fly around you shooting at you with covenant weapons, and they can fly in formation and hide in places fast and easily to take cover from your gunfire due to them not having any armor or shields, that I know of anyways....so if this helps out at all with durga saying she loves bee's, maybe thats because shes eeeeeviilll?? I dont know, just thought id throw this up in the air, peace.

Is it just me or does it sound more and more like the part of Durga that she isn't controlling is the Sleeping Princess? In the new sound files, she begins to break into the little girl voice again when she gets talking about her dreams. Also saying that in her dreams she is in a building with big stone walls, hiding, sending messages, saying she's a little girl. Sounds a lot like what the Sleeping Princess is doing. Could the Sleeping Princess be Durga's rampancy? Sounds like a craziness that the Navy would be scared of. Runs around hiding from it's keepers, sending out messages to random people. holy crap!!!! i found a video of halo 2. it contains massive amounts of spoilers and i dont even know if its supposed to be out. it looks french. in halo 1 where you dont hit anything on the controller when you first put it in it will open a short video. showing campaign. coop, multiplayer. and it shows clips from all of them. its just like that. but for halo 2.

Hello all,
There is always a solution to a problem, although the best solution is not always the most obvious. The solution in this case is to assist Dana while at the same time NOT harm the Sleeping Princess(SP). Dana's object is to neutralize the SP, or she faces the consequences of having Melissa (the Operator, the Queen) harm Aunt Margaret. In order to achieve both objectives (neutralize the SP, and not have Aunt Margaret hurt)we need only provide Dana with a way to combine the SP with the Pious Flea. Thus the SP would be neutralized (she would not exist in the same form), and Dana would suceed, and we will be able to retain the SP's help and services.
In order to do this, WE (EVERYONE on this blog, and in the wiki blogs, chat rooms, and forums) need to e-mail Dana( danatwing@gmail.com ) and provide her with the solution. Perhaps the best way to do this is to tell Dana to communicate with the SP in the same way that we have been communicating with her. She should send, via e-mail, pictures with messages in them to the SP and convience her to merge with the Pious Flea. If Dana can do this then the new entity (Pious Flea + Sleeping Princess = Pious Princess or Sleeping Flea??) might be able to work with Melissa in order to repair the AI, and allow Melissa to complete her mission.

Sorry for the long post but I need to say this.
I speculate that the AI found on the www.ilovebees.com server is Cortana, but only part of Cortana. During "First Strike", Master Chief puts Cortana in a Covenant Computer and she encountered a Covenant AI. She was surprised at this because there had never been any documentation of a Covenant AI by UNSC or ONI. She tore the AI apart, erasing, recording the Covenant code structure....until she found the AI's core code...she almost recognized this code...the patterns were maddening familiar. Cortana noticed that small portions of the alien software looked like her...it was almost as if it were her code...only copied many times, each time with subtle errors introduced by the replication process. Somehow, Cortana was stuck in a time slipstream and partially sent back here to 2004. The trip caused her to fragment and thus the birth of our
Melissa is the logical portion, SP is the emotional portion, Pious Flea is the AI backbone of Cortana. Somehow they travelled back in time and are trying to make it back to 2552. And maybe Durga (mneumonic: GUARD) was "left behind" by Cortana to be a last ditch effort to protect or warn Earth...

This could be a very good oportunity to separate Melissa from the flea. Tell Melissa that the flea is working with and hiding the SP (we've got plenty of evidence to back us up).

Also, I think getting all three to merge could be a bad idea. It seems that the flea wants to assimilate itself into both (and perhaps together) and I believe we should be suspicious of anything the flea wants.

i believe the jan part. but what do you have to back up your rani theory. by the way the spartan armor is called MJOLNIR. but i have no clue how to pronounce it.
what i think will happen is jan and some of the others(not really sure who) will go into chawla base and get to the artifact but its to late. and this artifact contains a bunch of eggs or small forms of(just add water style) the new threat,whatever it is. then the attack comes from the ground and space(were boned).
is this the tire sized artifact? because if this new threat is contained inside of it. then this new enemy could be the size of fish eggs or somthing(and grow rapidly or something).
or this artifact could activate this new enemy from a hybernation style sleep. they could be inside earth. or near earth in the same solar system somewhere.(uranus???). but judging from some of the rumors about this new foe. i doubt jan in any type of armor will be safe. considering the rumors ive been hearing the covies are also scared of these new guys. i may be reconsidering starting a campaign mode on halo 2 on heroic.
in halo 2 they made legendary one of the hardest game experinces you could imagine. no more having one guy run in and kill a couple then respawn. i heard that once one guy dies then you both go back to the last check point. or mabey one trys to fend off the oncoming hordes of covies. but either way i wont be on legendary until i finish it on normal or easy. i say easy just because i would want the story to progress faster.

Okay, I don't have a crazy theory for a change, but unfortunately I do have to shoot down some others. Not that they aren't possible, but these additional facts do need to be taken into account. The guy above my post there is right about GS343 first off. That's forerunner, not covenent, as was the entire Halo ring and most of the stuff on it.
Second. Not to incur your wrath here or nothin Gohon, but if you were talking about Jan getting the Mjolnir armor that the Spartan II's got, I don't think that would work out too well. In the book Fall of Reach it says that all the previous test subjects for the Mjolnir armor had died because of how the suit enhances everything you do and the previous subjects body's couldn't handle it and they became a mess of broken bones and such. The only reason it worked on the Spartan II's is because of their substantial surgical upgrades that got around puberty (things they could have got when they were younger because they wouldn't have grown with their bodies enough).
Also I don't think Jan would get the suit and take to fighting anyway since she couldn't even kill the guy that killed her dad. The whole point was her dad didn't want her to have that kind of life, to be a killing machine or whatever, and from her inability to kill Thin, we get to see he did a good job raising her. *tear* But thank heaven for her mom.

Okay, scratch my first comment there. Just listened to the newly unlocked axons. Except for the part about the Mjolnir armor, I don't think that'll work still.
sweet holy crap my comp takes a long time to let me post lately... anyway, i do not recall in "first strike" where cortana compares the covenant ai to herself. i believe all she says is that there is something strangely familiar about the core program, and she doesn't have the time to investigate further as she is trying to keep john (MC) and the rest of the crew alive and focusing all of her attention on that task. after completing the book (last night), i would just like to let everybody know a couple things that caught my interest in the book (sorry if this becomes a loooong post). first off that there are currently 5 spartans still in commission. John, Linda, Will, and Fred. they are all on board the UNSC Gettysburg on their way back to earth with sgt. johnson and cortana. The other remaining spartan (Kelly) has been whisked away someplace with Dr. Halsey (Dr. Halsey had something she wanted to do and took Kelly with her). The artifact retrieved from Reach had the ability to alter time and space (may have something to do with melissa/SP/Flea/Durga), but has been blown into tiny pieces, some of which are figured to have gotten left behind in slipspace. Cortana has a way to make the covie's plasma weapons on their ships more lethal. instead of just shooting a ball of plasma, she has discovered a way to 'refine' (for lack of a better word) that energy into a laser beam type weapon which she used to cut at least 2 or 3 (can't remember the exact number now) of covie ships in half. She is now returning to Earth with the knowledge of this technology, as well as what she learned from Halo, and the covenant AI. John (MC) has a data crystal that Dr. Halsey has given him before her departure with a lot of info regarding the FLOOD. And, there was a comparison that ONI's mountain facility sort of resembled the inside of a castle (at least that was the impression i got), with high stone walls and such. I feel this may directly relate to the SP saying she dreams of castles, and the rock walls, and about going home, and maybe this facility is her home (where she was created). I know that is just spec., but something to think about. I also feel that at some point in the game, we will be fighting alongside some if not all of the remaining Spartans. I hope, that we will find out where Dr. Halsey went and what she did. Whitcomb and Locklear took out close to 500 Covie ships when they lured them all in closer to the covie command-and-control center (Unyielding Heirophant) just before it blew up killing all the covies aboard those ships, and themselves in the process. The leader of the covies did not seem worried at all of this news, and made the statement that this was only a MINOR setback (not in those exact words), and that it made no difference to their objective. He then ordered the (covie) survivors killed. Soooo, they must have a shitload of ships/personnel still-enough to still wipe out earth.

btw, the chief ran into a Brute, and after emptying a clip into its chest, still managed to grab the chief by the neck and strangle him. the chief could NOT get the brute's hand off of his neck with his upper body strength alone. he had to use his feet to kick him off, and drive some frag grenades down the beast's pants to kill the SOB. These things sound tough...can't wait to give 'em hell!!!

People are arguing over a website story, and people flaming each other and being idiots is getting old. I want to know the story, not see arguing people on a Blog. I wonder if the same thing that happened to Guilty Spark happens to Cortana (or Durga). After all GS went looney tunes -- Durga said that seven years or so was the amount of time for a "smart AI" to go insane. I don't know how long Cortana's been active, but it's been 3 years -- half that time -- since the first Halo.
I think Cortana is going to turn on Master Chief at some point.
Whatever the case, there's a SHODAN situation awaiting in Halo 2 -- I'm sure of it.
Oh, and you probably already know this, but Melissa (the crashed AI)... Melissa is "honey bee" in Greek.
Jonah Falcon i already mentioned that about mellissas name and durga like a month ago. Oh and GS didn't go looney; he is forrunner technology and can survive probably forever unlike the primitive human AI's. (althought it is my thought that the forerunners are the humans but i won't go into that spec unless you want me to). And cortana probably won't turn on MC, it goes against her ethics programming and everything. She might night live the full 7 years because of the Halo data, but then again she may find info in the data that shows humans how to create ever lasting AI's (if my speculations are right).
Yomaster, the storyline for this ARG will provide deapth and back ground to halo 2, like reading the books, it will not give it all away, and halo 2 will not give away the entire storyline for the ARG, just a couple of conclusions. Thats part of the reason why everyone is working hard trying to figure it out, its not going to be given to us in halo 2.
Oh and People who play halo 2 and are oblivious to the ILB Storyline wont be able to apreciate it as deeply as those who do but almost certanly wont even know that they have missed something. Its like the whole thing about the 3 new spartans that you will work with in Halo2 you wont know anything about them if you just play the game but if you read the books youll know so much more, making the characters that much deaper, and the story and game play that much more powerful.

I've assumed from the lack of responses in the Comments that she does not check these, and so our emails will be the first she has heard of our plans. We can only hope that she sees our efforts and confiding in her as a hope, rather than a lead to snare our Princess...
If necessary, perhaps we can convince the Princess to go into hiding once more, Dana reporting to the Queen that she has located and destroyed the "rogue process" singlehandedly?
Alternately, there could be a way of transferring the Princess to another system; one outside of the Queen's dominion, or an outpost. A frontier. While Durga is a vigilant and formidable creature who is not fond of unexpected guests, we have seen how elusive a stowaway our Princess can be...
Admittedly, both these are risky propositions. Then again, tell me of a strategy that isn't.
well...i still have a little bit more to read on the blog, but i just gotta give props to kevjuice for the link to a decent quality movie of the trailer we all saw a few weeks ago...and one thing caught my eye when i was watching the trailer...if you look at the video when the profet was talking about how "they said this day would never come"...right after you see the MC jump out of the ship like in the 1st halo2 trailer...it shows a really quick clip of what looks like to me a white haired brute with some blunt object, slamming in promptly into some brown thing's head... I dont really know what it means, and it really has nothing to do with the matter at hand, but i thought it was interesting...(could it be like the king brute, giving it old skool to a profet w/o its crown on?)...i dont know...but it almost looks like 2 species ive never seen in the halo world...
On to more relivent matters i have always thought of dana and melissa as a subquest sort of project...I think though that if the AI's were to be merged, they need to be on no-mans land...if either one of them gets an advantage to take the other over they will do it...i think that maybe you hafta get them close enough to eachother w/o them knowing it for the flea to do his groping and fuse them all together...but like i said, that to me is a meer side quest to the axons...the wav files are coming to a close and all i know is that the waves are in the future(with the MC and Halo 2) and melissa is here....so im going for the halo 2 relevency now...
