I assume the reason it's a DVD rather than CD is because there's four hours and fifty minutes of content, and that's not going to go on a single CD.

yea , on average a cd holds around 80 min of sound.... It could be a video... but i think its going to be a dvd for your pc , with stuff on the making of the site and possibly features on the voice actors... mebby , with explinations of the "truth" also is a copy of the whole log....

DVD? Really? Why is the only axon I have even a remote chance of getting to going off when I have to be somewhere else? Why is the nearest pick-up point in the next state?
Dana, I may have only found one axon, but I've been watching from the wings, unable to participate, for a long time now, but this place definitely has some memories for me. If possible, I'd be grateful if you would find it in your heart to hold some copies of the DVD for people like Fearing and myself who can't make it to a pick-up point. We are definitely going to try to contact you about them.

ok now for halo 2,
i went and paid the last 13 bucks on halo 2. i felt great. knowing that it was 100% mine now. and the guy who worked at gamestop said he may be able to get me the limited edition. how kick ass is that. and i went to this store called gamecrazy. and there having a 10-midnight halo 2 tourny. so im gonna go there at 10 to about 11:30. then head to the mall. pick up halo 2. and make for the xbox for a little online play. or mabey some campaign. i really wanna see some ilb stuff in this game. i think they might not put any in though. because even though ilb was huge and it got alot of halo fans attension. alot of poeple were left out of the loop. and they might not want to put any ilb references in there if more than half the fans dont know what it is. but i hope bungie did the right thing and gave us a couple easter eggs.
ive been practicing halo alot. but i still feel like its not good enough. i tryed to get my sensitivity higher. because i heard that it could be helpful if you get used to it. i beat a couple levels with it on 6(used to it on 3) and it wasnt so bad. but then i tryed 10 and it would take me days to get comfortable with that. but if it will make me better at halo ill try it.
i hate that the site is ending. i accually started to get used to forums. chats blow! but now i dont have any good ones. this forum has been the first thing i look at everyday on the net. and now its ending. damn.

Well, that was just awesome. I only posted here once prior to this, I never participated in the game ('cause I'm weird and have a problem talking to strangers on the phone, lmao), and I would never deprive anyone of their deserved prize at the end of the tunnel by attending any of the events. I am just posting to say this was one of the coolest stories I've ever read and heard.
I hope this will further this new story-telling medium, and will help the uninitiated to understand that for many, video games and alternate reality games are as much a passion as great books, movies, and TV shows are for others. (And just as valid!)
This has been a spectacular yarn to watch being unfurled each week, and I just want to say thanks to everyone who contributed to it in any way shape or form, whether they are or will be known publicly or not, for creating it for us all to see and hear.

I am a very loyal Halo fan. I have read the books, beaten the game through and through, and I have been visiting ILB since the very beginning when the theatrical trailer led the first slew of us to this great endeavor. Unfortunately, due to work, and the fact that I live an hour south of New Orleans I have been unable to reach any axons that came anywhere near me. Work and location shall also prevent me from reaching the Combat Training Exercises as well as the Cache Locations. Missing the training exercises I can accept, I would love to due battle alongside and against the personalities I have joined on this journey through alternate reality but it is not to be. However, I have been hoping since the transmissions began that there would be a compilation available to us, and a DVD is even more than I could have hoped for. The closest Cache Location to me is Houston and I will not be able to make it because I have just started a new job. I would love to receive a free copy of the Communications Log, however, I understand that they cannot be given to everyone so I do not expect a free copy. I am willing to pay for one if that is what it takes, thirty dollars is the normal price for a DVD and I am willing to pay that or even more to ensure that I have a copy of the Communications log. I purchased my XBox because of Halo, I had already beaten the game at a friend's house but I wanted to play more so I bought an XBox, Halo, and an extra controller just for Halo. I have purchased other games for my XBox since, Ninja Gaiden, Fable, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Prince of Persia, but I always come back to Halo. And I have had my copy of Halo 2 preordered since the eighth of December last year when it was supposed to hit stores shortly thereafter. When I learned of the delays I payed off the game in full and later upgraded to the Limited Edition when I was informed of it's existence. So now my Limited Edition copy of Halo 2 will be waiting for me at my local GameStop at 12:01 AM on the ninth of this month. I know there are bigger fans out there but I think I at least rank among them if not at their sides. So I am posting this message on the lastest blog about the Communications Log in hopes of getting someone's attention. And to the same effect I shall be sending a copy of this post to Dana after Thursday's training mission, per Melissa's request. Perhaps getting my message out to more than one place can maximize my chances of being heard...or rather, read. At any rate, I apologize for the long post. And I hope my dedication to Halo and my persistent obsession with viewing all things ILB deem me a loyal member of the ILB crew in the eyes of Melissa and Dana, and thus worthy of a copy of the Communications Log. I thank those responsible for ILB for their time and effort and assure them that they have accomplished something grand. A great story was slowly unraveled here and it will not soon be forgotten.

I've been following ilovebees.com closely since I first heard about it. I read everything I could and tried my best to find clues embedded in HTML and images, etc. However, I never did send any e-mails or manage to answer any payphones, so I'm not on the list of allies.
To top it all off, I have a pre-op for heart surgery at the same time the DVDs are available in Dallas.

this looks like a lot of wavs. im betting half of them arent anything. and the *truth* comes out in the last few. but it will still be nice to see. im very anxious to see how there gonna wrap this up. i was mad because i thought that last week was the end. i didnt want it to end like that.
im guessing these last wavs talk more about how the covenent attack. or it might be how earth is planning their defense. i think they finished the AI story. she went rampant and it explain how everything happend. so now they have to move on and close the gap between ilb and halo 2.
im losing it. i seriously cant take the wait for halo 2. everyday i search for new videos. but i cant find anything new. sleeping is my only way of passing time. that and xbox live. im trying to change my sleeping habits before halo 2. so i can stay up all night playing it. ill be getting the game as soon as possible. and then getting back to my xbox as quickly as possible. i have to know the secrets of halo 2. i want to know what happend after first strike. i was left with so many questions.

I just noticed this playing halo AGAIN. I don't know why I didn't realize this. A long time ago I posted about a part of this conversation but never even noticed this. I had mentioned before about GS343 talking to master chief like her knew him. WELL, this is kinda wierd, could have to do with a Marathon connection maybe and the end of the universe/begining of a new one kinda thing, but the GS343 was wondering why master chief was so reluctant to stop the flood by wiping out the galaxy. On the topic of Guilty Spark's comments in Halo: If you read "The Flood" novel, it seems more likely that GS343 merely mistook Master Chief for a Forerunner or some such being that was supposed to come activate the installation at some point in time. Earlier, as MC is battling his way through Flood forms, GS suggests that he upgrade to a better "containment suit" or something to the effect of suggesting that MC break out the better armor. I think that Guilty Spark thought Master Chief was the being who was in charge of Halo when it was first constructed, and the question of whether GS would activate the ring was posed to it by that being, Forerunner, whatever it may have been.
My question is, if Halo was designed to kill the Flood's prey, why make it able to double as a slice of a moon or planet? Why not kill the Flood directly instead of starving them to death?
Going back to Regal's post, I just want to say I know where you're coming from. Real Life interfered with my joining ILB until now, too. And even now I may miss this last axon because of work -_- Why couldn't it be just fifteen minutes later? Or even five minutes later? Or even have it go active more than just once?
I'm not sure but I don't think you have to be on the list to pick up a DVD just to order one from Dana Directly.
Now i have a question however, I'm heading out about 6hours before they realease the DVD to make sure that I get one, but how will I know who to talk to? anyone have any ideas?

I've seen several posts about people wanting to get on the crew list, or if they need to be on the crew list to get one of the DVDs. Well, I sent an email to Dana, and she responded, advising me that all you needed to do was give the realy code (“The Operator left a message for me.” ) to whoever the attendant is at any one of the 27 additional locations. And of, course you need to be one of the first 50 people to ask as per her post. Hope this helps.

I have been following this since the first blog post, but I was unable to do any more than post theories. I was never able to make any axon calls, and I can't make any of the meetings on the 4th. I really want one of these dvds so maybe I can finally explain what happened to this website to my fellow gamers without sounding like an idiot.

Wow, that was freakin' sweet. A great ending to a great few months. Sad though.
Anyway, picking up before where I left of a while ago... DANG PoS, take the least fun or interesting stance on a situation why dontcha? Kidding, but seriously, you could be right, but it GS343 and MC talked about anything relevent DURING teleporting, you think they'd talk about it. It seems to intentional to just explain away like that. The guys at bungie are fantatstic storytellers, and that seems like it should have more significance than that. I don't necessarily know what it is, but something more is there that we don't know about yet. Besides, the GS343's comment later would seem to substantiate that. When they go back to the Pillar of Autumn, GS343 talks about how Cortana has a record of all of thier lost time. Then says something like, interesting, human history you call it.... something more than on the surface is there.

I got the DVD, it appears to just have everything on it (all the audio files, everyones pictures, widows journey, etc...) but on the front of the disk it says Xbox live and in small print on the bottom it says "Microsoft corporation Unpublished Work. Pre-Release Software" it also says halo 2 on it. If someone has a scanner they should put it online cuse the image u get isn't gonna bee at all what it looks like. If u put it in the xbox it ask's for the dvd playback and there is no M rating (but it is a demo so it wouldn't need one even if a halo demo was on it) but i dunno, just thought i'd post cuse i would think xbox live would only be there if you actually used xbox live...
come people. those of us who couldn't go need the info on the dvd so please share

Hey i just got back from the Boston one and got the disc, conviently it was at a loews cineplex, i got the cd and just put it on, the cds have photos of axon sites, and it has every single message in order on it, and no theres no video, thats about it

The DVD has basically all of the wav files stitched together in one huge narrative - I don't know the total running time but I'd venture to say it's over an hour and a half.
There are screen captures of all (or many?) of the pages from ilovebees.com as well as pictures sent in by the crew - I don't think all the pictures are in there that were sent in however.
There is also a bit about the widow and the queen and how it relates to the computer codes created for the arg - I don't understand it all but its very detailed.
OOH yeah there are some deleted scenes - as far as audio I think 4 of them (it's really late still listening to the main narrative - want to save the deleted scenes for last).
There's a bit about how the audio was created - they went to great lengths to create detailed sound and went so far as to have the actors record their parts together (which generally isn't done) for authenticity.
There's a credit roll like at the end of the movie with all the names and roles.
Pretty darn cool. I'd like to believe the ilovebees story will give the story line for Halo2 an additional depth. Also remember a guy from halobabies.net had a chance to preview Halo2 a few months back and had reported that the "best part" of his visit was that he got to play a game he said would be an "instant favorite with Halo fans" and which he "couldn't talk about". Is it too much to imagine a second game coming out which participates in the Halo universe - how great would a first person game be as Janisary James?

Just searched the disc...looks like a normal dvd with audio_ts and video_ts folders.
tomorrow its ripping apart the menus, tryin to find anything.
Hopefully something will come outa it, if not...well itll be fun
Here's what I found. The DVD appears to have all of the audio files, sorted by chapters (1-12) and labeled with the character's name and the title (Jan - The Walk-Away Girl). There's also a farewell statement from the Operator thanking everyone for their participation.
Under "Creation", there are sections including photos of axons and crew members, the widow's journey, a sample of how the audio was recorded and mixed, and four unused sequences.
Then, there's the "Credits" section that is pretty much a scrolling list of everyone involved in the making of this phenomenon, ending with a big thank you to Bungie.
But no video, no game demo, certainly not the game itself. Even though it does have the Xbox Live logo on it, it's just a plain ol' DVD from what I can tell. Maybe that's a disappointment to some of you, but this is certainly more than I ever expected to get out of all of this. And we still have the actual game itself to look forward to!

I just got the dvd at the loews Oedon Cineplex in seattle and there were less than 50 of us Ilovebee'ers so we all got one. I met some peeps there that live in.... Redmond? shout out to yall. and another... wifi314 was it? nice to finally meet I Love bees fans in person instead of on the net. I'm sad that all of this is over, I've been with the whole train of Ilovebees since day 3 and have been waisting so much time at school with listening to the sound files and reading forums and looking at pictures in notepad... ah well. All I gotta say to bungie is.... good job and you'd better do it again real REAL soon. The dvd is just a dvd, you need the dvd playback kit for the xbox to play it and i dont have it . the disk has the halo2 logo, xbox live, and some publishing company's name at the bottom. I dont know if you can go on xbox live if you have the dvd playback kit, but I might just get a kit and try it out for the heck of it. Im watching (listening) to the dvd on my ps2 now and all it has are credits, all the soundfiles put IN ORDER (not just all the jans in one spot, but all of the sound files in chronological order. beginning of story to end) and it has files of all the axon locations, pics of locations, pics of crews and various other parts of the puzzles found on the i love bees site. Its great to hear everythig the way it was meant to be heard. Also, on the bottom of the dvd, it says copyright 2001.... I think that microsoft and bungie have been working on this Ilovebees thing since then... just shortly after halo 1 was released. peace.

Wow this has been an exciting few months it was great trying to figure out what was goin on. i have been following ILB since the second week but was unable to get to any of the axons or the training missions or the dvd pickups.:( But this has kept me busy up to the release of halo2 and would to thank bugie for giving me something to do this summmer and in my spare time. The DVD contains a Chapter 12 (with a few subchapters) and a Farewell.
They played a final chapter at the Theater, which is ends at the beginning of the Covenant Invasion.
Oh, and I got to play Halo 2 on the Big Theater screen, too ;)
I have to agree, this has been an awesome addition to the summer and a great prelude to what will probably be one of the greatest games ever. I can't wait to play Halo 2 now. I really hope I'll meet some if not all of you guys on Xbox Live. I'm in the ILB clan Hertzog for now, but I just read the oxm review of Halo 2 and it said something about only being allowed to be in one clan at a time, so that may have to change cause I have some friends from my job at gamestop and from college that want to start a clan. The only problem is I'm sure most of you have different gamertags than you do names on here.
If it's possible to have a profile name listed while your playing online as opposed to a gamertag it would be cool if everyone went by that so ILBers would be able to recognize each other. My gamertag is Fearing, same as my name here, so that's not an issue. Anyway, I hope to see you all on live.

For all of those who were asking, is a marker which was one of many posted by Dana to help Melissa track down and destroy the SP (see Dana's post "Mission Accomplished). On that day Dana posted numerous quotes adjacent with times, marking the SP's location. As the SP moved throughout the ILB's website evading the OP the quotes were erased. The final quote, the one which supposedly destroyed the SP (but we now know didn't) was "the last fortress 17:23:00"

So it looks like ILB is nearly over. Its been cool. But i bet there'll be a Halo 3. There has to be - the best things come in trilogies. So i wouldn't be surprised if Bungie and Microsoft are already planning another ARG for release in a few years!

I know I said this before...but after hearing the final chapter, it bears repeating. The voice talent, writing, production, etc. are phenomenal. Someone said the talented individuals behind this work deserve an award; I couldn't agree more.
This was a tale as gripping and moving as any book or film I've ever read or seen. I actualy found myself tearing up at times! Amazing for a work of fiction existing purely in audio form. Kudos to everyone who helped to create this.
This has reminded me alot of the old radio shows from back in the day, which is nice. Even my Mom, who remembers such radio broadcasts, got caught up in the narrative. Simply awesome.
Well, seeing as how I never participated anyway, this will be my last post lol. I just wanted to express my astonishment and thanks with respect to the outstanding quality and depth of this drama one last time. This is a work of art.

Well guys be thankful that your locations actually got DVD's. I drove 30 minutes to the Fort Worth location to find that they did not get any in. The manager called to the Dallas location and they did indeed get some in but my wife was not up for driving an additional hour each way to go to the Dallas place. However there were about 8 other people there for the DVD who were going to drive over there. I just couldnt convince the wife though. So I ended up making a 1 hour round trip just to find out that not all locations got the disks.
Has anyone Figured out what the two False Herzog files are, I'm having a little trouble.

Pious Flea: I came across a poem by William Cleary, "The Murmur of a Mournful Flea". Maybe it's nothing, but could it mean that the Pious Flea is Covie, and that all the races of the Covenant have one thing in common, which is human eradication?
It's quite possible the Covenant is bent on wiping humans out because they see us as a plague that's spreading through the universe, taking over other races' homeworlds and/or colonizing them.
Humankind is an infestation to the galaxy in their eyes, much like the Flood is to the ringworld. The Covenant is on a misguided quest to wipe out humanity as a whole, to prevent the "locusts" from spreading.
But that could just be me. ^_^

OK, about the new countdown, could it be a count down to the halo release, could someone figure it out? there is a sight witha countdown for the Halo release if we simply converted it to hours that might be the answere. Could someone post the link so we can check this out?
Could this be a countdown to Halo 3?!?!?!?!, or maybe an expansion of the ARG, either way its kinda scary Because I think the Pious Flea is the Covenent Trojan. Any thoughts my fellow Gamers? Oh and I divided the largest number in the countdown by 365, and got 562.23595505617977528089887640449, I know this isnt acurate because it doesnt take into acount leap years and stuff like that, any Ideas?

Covenent invasion perhaps? Will the flea play a part in Halo 3 besides alerting the covenent to our location?
I'm thinking that the timer is counting down to the time the covenant invade in the future. Calculating the years and adding them to our current year is when it happens, since Halo 2 takes place in the future.
Come on people. It's counting down to the reunification of Melissa. It's counting down to wide awake and physical.... in 2502. Or something close to there don't criticize me.
BTW... My gamertag is Yomaster. I think all of the XBox Live members here should make a clan. We need to represent what we did.. and its only right. I will be one of the first to get halo 2... I live in California, and will have it by 6:00 AM release day. If not, we need someone else to make a clan, I don't want to see all of us lose connection with each other.
